Sony states that this adapter will support all Steam VR games, including big titles like Half-Life: Alyx. However, to play these games on PC, a DisplayPort cable will be needed. Additionally, a Steam account will be required. You can check the minimum system requirements below.
Sony explains that the PlayStation VR2 headset is specifically designed for the PS5, so some features will not be available for PC. HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback (excluding other vibrations) will not be present on PC.
However, high-resolution and sensory features like 4K visuals (2000 x 2040 pixels per eye), 110-degree field of view, finger touch detection, pass-through viewing, and foveated rendering (without eye tracking) will be supported on PC. Additionally, 3D audio will be available in supported games.
Sony confirmed earlier this year that PC support would come for PlayStation VR2, but they did not provide a specific date. Now, we know that this adapter will be released in August. This announcement was made about a year after the release of the PSVR 2.
